Thanksgiving

Hey, whoever reads this, I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome! Mine was great! My uncle/godfather's wife and son came and spent two nights at our house, and his daughter and her boyfriend got a hotel room a couple of miles away. It was great getting to spend time with the four of them. On Wednesday night, us cousins, my cousin's boyfriend, and my dad took a trip to San Lorenzo to check out Rasputin's Music Store. If you're ever in the Berkeley, Campbell, Concord, Fresno, Haight, Mountain View, San Francisco, San Lorenzo, Stockton, or Vallejo areas, check it out! They have thousands of CD's and DVD's for really great prices. A lot of them are previously owned, but they're still in really great condition. I actually stumbled upon two of my favorite childhood adapted-for-movies books: Shiloh Season and Saving Shiloh, the second and third books/movies from the Shiloh trilogy by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. It's been forever since I've read those books, and I'm surprised I still remember what they're about. Anyways, we came home after a quick trip to Starbucks and watched The Exorcist. My cousin and her boyfriend left halfway through the movie, but the rest of us stayed up to finish the movie. After that, my cousin set up his air mattress on the living room floor, and I set up my bed on the couch, and we called it a day. The next day, we had to wake up early and prep for Thanksgiving dinner. My Dad and Matt (my cousin) went around the corner to my friend's house, so her dad could help them deep-fry a turkey. My mom and aunt worked in the kitchen, making everything else. I went to 9 a.m. Thanksgiving day Mass, and when I got home, me and Matt went to pick up Julie (my cousin) and Aaron (her boyfriend). When we got back, the food prep continued, and around 1 o'clock, my cousin, Brian, and his girlfriend, Ros, came over. After a while, my uncle, Robert, and his daughter, Sarah, came over. Everyone relaxed and talked, and then Brian and Ros headed over to Brian's mom's house for dinner. My dad, Matt, and Uncle Robert went out back to grill some tri-tip. Eventually, we all sat down to eat. The dinner was amazing, and the dessert, pumpkin cheesecake, ice cream, and a cake (made by yours truly), was even better. Later that night, we went pre-Black Friday shopping at Wal-Mart and Target. It was  pretty insane. It took almost an hour just to check out at Wal-Mart, and the line to get into Target went all the way around the building. There were some pretty great deals Thursday night and Friday, but I'm sure you all know that. Anyways, I should probably start on some homework. Check back next week for another update!
