Sooo...This is a Blog....

Not sure why, but I felt like I needed a blog post. I used to have a webs.com blog, and I was gonna post on there, but I have no fucking idea what my username and password are, so I figured, why not create a blogspot? Seems like everyone uses blogspot anyways.

Here's an update on my life:

I'm a junior now. Hard to believe, right? Well...maybe not, since I'm 1000% sure anyone who reads this doesn't know me. When I first started my other blog, I was in 7th grade. I updated it on a very irregular basis, sometimes going months to even a year without posting. But, for some reason, I feel that I need a blog to let go of all my rants and raves and whatnot, since everyone causes drama on facebook.

Yesterday, I came home from Kairos, a three (or sometimes four) day retreat held around the world on different dates. Basically, it was a retreat filled with prayer, reflection, repentance, laughter, and tears...a lot of tears. I can't really say much about it in case anyone from my school happens to stumble upon this blog, but I can say that if you have the opportunity to go on Kairos, definitely go! You won't be sorry! Everyone always told me Kairos was life-changing. Personally, I don't think it was. Instead, it opened up my perspective on life and God. I have a new viewpoint on things, but my life still is, and always will be the same. I mean, I can change things about it, but that's more a result of my viewpoints changing, not just the retreat itself. Ya know? Kairos means God's time in case you're wondering.

These past three days were seriously the best days ever! I loved spending time with four of my best friends, as well as my little support group of 6 (four classmates, our senior student leader, and our parent/teacher leader). So many memories were made in the short time that we spent together. For the first time, I openly admitted to people I am not particularly close to that I'm nyctophobic (fear of the dark), and I don't regret it. Come to think about it, it actually feels like a giant weight has been lifted off of my chest. Even though my group didn't judge me, they did give me a little bit of trouble ;) My teacher leader decided to scare the shit out of me right after we had a group prayer. He's pretty much the coolest person out there, so it was all good. I wasn't a big fan of the activity where we all had to stay in a room alone for what felt like half a God's time (we were not allowed to know what time it was, so we called the hours God's time). I'm not gonna lie, I started crying so much, and it was really awkward when our student leader walked in. Not that I wasn't cool with crying in front of him (well, it took some getting used to), but it was the fact that I was crying for a dumb reason in front of a really good-looking guy that made it awkward for me.

Michael was great. He's the coolest group leader I've ever had on a retreat, and I'm really excited for the upcoming school year because we have a split 5th period together (he has Honors Italian 4 and I have Honors Italian 3). He's an amazing listener, and everything that comes out of his mouth is either really insightful or insanely funny. There were a few group moments where him and I cried together, and, although it  was sad, it was bittersweet in a weird way (I'm sure the ladies would understand this ;) . The look on his face when I told him about the couple I saw having sex was absolutely priceless! Our group shared so many weird stories, and I'll miss our little family.

Some non-Kairos related stuff:

Thanksgiving is coming up! I'm so excited to see my family on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday! It's not gonna be a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, since my dad doesn't want to grill up (or bake, or however you make it) a turkey, so we're having tri-tip instead. That's alright with me because my dad makes a killer tri-tip. Anyways, I don't want to bore you with a bunch of nothing, really.

Check back after Thanksgiving for another post! And, while you're at it, here's a couple links you should check out:

- angryfatrants.blogspot.com -> My cousin's blog. He posts a lot of random rants, and I know you'll enjoy it.
- @littlepulizzano -> My twitter and instagram. If you enjoy my random blog thoughts, you'll love my random twitter posts and instagram pics.
- youtube.com/acousticinstruman -> My friend's youtube. He's gonna do it big some day!

Have a great Thanksgiving!
<3 Abigail
